William Dave Jenkins, 89, died Friday, August 9, 2019 at his home in Leo, IN.  He was born on August 8, 1930 in Detroit, MI to the late William J. & Nettie (Beaver) Jenkin.  He married Peggy Elaine Smith on November 13, 1970 in Leo-Cedarville, IN.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Jenkins of Leo; sons, William M. Jenkins of Lee's Summit, MO & David Jenkins of Decatur, IN; daughter, Sharon Poe of Warsaw; stepson, Daniel Zimmerman of Harlan; 19 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by sisters, Emily E. George, Phyllis J. Vargas, Mary Newkirk and Marjorie E. Brown and grandsons, Staff Sgt. Phillip C. Jenkins & Patrick C. Jenkins.

He worked as an Electronics Technician at Magnavox for 25 years retiring in 1993.  He was a member of the Spencerville United Methodist Church, Korean War Veteran Association, Chapter 1-Ft. Wayne, American Legion Post 97 in Auburn and the Disabled American Veterans.

Services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 2 pm with calling 1/2 hour prior to the service at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, IN.  Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, IN with military honors.
