Obituary

Ted A. Hollabaugh, 79, died Tuesday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Auburn, IN to the late Maurice H. & Janice F. (Ridgway) Hollabaugh. He married Nina Hoover on May 23, 1959 in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Spencerville, IN.

Surviving are his wife, Nina Hollabaugh of Spencerville, IN; son, Jon (Suzanne) Hollabaugh of Fremont, IN; daughters, Kelly Hollabaugh of Pierceton, IN, Jane Hollabaugh (Ken Arnt) of Butler, IN and Mary (Don) Diehl of St. Joe, IN; grandchildren - Elizabeth & Addie Walters and Cyrus & Audrey Diehl; sister, Margery Morgan of Omaha, NE; brothers, J. Thomas (Cheryll) Hollabaugh of St. Joe, IN, James (Mary) Hollabaugh of Fairlawn, OH, J. Parks Hollabaugh of Spencerville, IN; and a sister-in-law, Connie Hollabaugh of Ft. Wayne, IN.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hollabaugh; brothers-in-law, Carl T. Hoover, Jr and David Morgan, sister-in-law, Donna Hollabaugh and his in-laws, Carl T. & Berniece Hoover.

Ted was in the first and only graduating class of Concord-Spencer High School in 1954 after attending Spencerville High School through his junior year. He then served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a lifelong resident of Spencerville, where he enjoyed reading, politics, history, shooting, and visits from his grandkids. His greatest joy was entertaining his family with countless stories of his lifelong experiences of living in Spencerville. Many of such stories shall never be repeated. He retired from General Electric as a tool & die maker in 1997. He was a 30 year member of the Spencerville Volunteer Fire Dept., serving as the Dept. Chief for over 10 years, was a current member of the Spencer Township Advisory Board and a member of the Butler American Legion Post 202 and Butler Eagles #2733.

A Gathering of family & friends will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 from 2-8 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, IN. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home with Scott Miner officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at White City Cemetery with military honors by the Butler American Legion Post 202.
