Steve L. Monroe, 68, died Monday at St. Joe Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Hicksville, OH to the late Frank A. & Hilda M. (Brown) Monroe. Surviving are his sister, Ondalee (John) Cobler of Angola, IN; three nieces, Joann Hinchman of St. Joe, IN, Lucinda (Derek) North of Angola, IN & Kim (Larry) Handshoe of Rome City, IN; 4 great nieces, 4 great nephews and 1 great great niece. He was a self-employed photographer & did some construction. He was a Navy veteran, served on the St. Joe Town Board for 8 years and on the St. Joe Fire Department & Rescue & the Butler EMS. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-6 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, IN. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Merle Holden officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe, IN.
