Simon Eicher, 87, died peacefully on Friday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Woodburn, IN to the late Noah & Christina (Schwartz) Eicher. He married Mary Yoder on June 12, 1976 in Nappanee, IN.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Eicher of Woodburn, IN; daughter, Karen (Lloyd) Slagle of Nappanee, IN; grandchildren, Wendy Lark of Goshen, IN, Amy (Stan) Davis of Elkhart, IN; great grandchildren, Myleah Slagle, Makia Tartt, Dominic Davis and Delaney Davis; a sister, Rosie Witmer of Leo, IN; brothers, Michael (Amanda) of Grabill, IN, Menno of Woodburn, IN and Raymond (Orpha) of Hicksville, OH.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Lydia Delagrange & Barbara Graber and brothers, Joe, Noah, Andrew, David & Daniel Eicher and a sister-in-law, Loretta Eicher.
Simon worked as a floor installer for Klopfenstein Furniture, a deliverer for Dutch Maid Cabinets and was an expertise in fixing clocks and sewing machines. He was a member of North Leo Mennonite Church and Gideons International.
Calling will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at North Leo Mennonite Church (15419 SR 1 Leo, IN). Services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11 am at the church with Pastor Allen Schlatter & Joe Schwartz officiating.
