Robert Lee "Bob" Pfister, 83, died Friday, January 4, 2019 at the hospice care unit of Parkview Hospital Randallia in Ft. Wayne, IN.  Bob was born in Madison, WI on June 13, 1935, as the first of eleven children of the late Levi N. & Lillian M. (Blume) Pfister.  He married Janice M. Bahler on September 30, 1962, at her parents' home in Wolcott, IN.  In their 56 years of marriage, the couple had four children:  Nancy (1963), John (1964), Elaine (1969), and Robert (1977).  Bob served in the Navy from 1956 to 1957, stationed in Los Angeles, CA, and later worked at Wayne Pump and International Harvester in Ft. Wayne, IN.  In 1963, he and his brother, David founded Pfister Brothers Farms, a venture that at one point grew crops on 8,000 acres on 126 farms in five Indiana counties, and employed his brothers Albert, Daniel, and Myron, his sisters Ella and Margie, his mother Lillian, his daughter Nancy, his son John, and many others.  Later in life, Bob owned a John Deere store in Plymouth, IN, a grain elevator in Paulding, OH, and a semi-trailer manufacturing company in Spencerville, enjoyed part-time auctioneering and being a van driver.  He was baptized in the Ft. Wayne Evangelical Christian Church in 1972, and after decades of attending the Apostolic Christian Church, where his wife had been a member since shortly after their marriage, Bob joined the church as a member on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

Surviving are his wife Janice of Leo; son Robert of Los Angeles, CA; daughters Nancy (Jay) Brandenberger and Elaine (Shane) Chapin of Ft. Wayne; grandsons Brett Pfister, Maxwell Chapin, and Jesse Brandenberger of Ft. Wayne; granddaughters Cecelia Chapin of West Lafayette and Breana Pfister of Auburn; brothers David (Sharon) Pfister of Ft. Wayne, Albert (Rebecca) Pfister of Bluffton; Daniel (Karen) Pfister and Myron Pfister of Auburn; sisters Carolyn (Ralph) Gudeman of IL, Linda Rengstorf of MN, Ella Blume of CO, Marty Pence of Ft. Wayne, and Margie (Steve) Stoller of Richmond.  He was preceded in death by his son John in 2012 and his sister in 2004.

Calling will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church (11714 Grabill Road Leo, IN).  Services wil be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at the church with Lynn Stieglitz officiating.  Burial in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery.
