Richard D. Moorehead, 76, died Friday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Defiance, OH on February 17, 1938 to the late Raymond & Mabel (Roehrig) Moorehead. He married Roxie Kay Matson on September 10, 1965 in Defiance and she preceded him in death on January 7, 2010.

Surviving are a son, Scott Moorehead of Leo, IN; daughters, Kathryn Karkau of Flint, MI, Sherry Acra of Leo, IN, Melany Moorehead of LaPorte, IN, and Melissa Byers of Auburn, IN; step son, Tim Thompson of Tampa, FL; step daughter, Tamara Fonner of Spencerville, IN; brother, Jim Moorehead of Aiken, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Grimes and a brother, Roger Moorehead.

Richard worked as a conductor for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad and was a member of the Leo United Methodist Church.

Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at 1 pm with calling two hours prior at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencervile, IN. Pastor David Heim will officiate. Entombment in Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance, OH.
