Rev. Gerald "Gerry" Weesner, 89, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Sacred Heart in Avilla, IN. He was born on May 15, 1936 in Union Township, Van Wert County, OH to the late A. Russell & Ida May (Miller) Weesner. He married Roberta Nolte and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1990. His second marriage was to Kay Louise Hines on July 9, 1994 in the Leo United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on November 21, 2018.
Surviving are their children, Gretchen (Lalo) Aguilar of Hong Kong, China, Jo (Ron) Bennett of Churubusco, IN and Karen (Gale) Smith; grandchildren, Amanda (Peter) Price, Megan Noehren, Trey Noehren, Lalito Aguilar, Sofia Aguilar; great grandchildren, Aubrey & Parker Price and a brother, Robert Weesner of Ft. Wayne.
He was preceded in death by sisters & brothers-in-law, Cecilia (Rex) Purk, Patricia (Harvey) Milligan and a brother, George Weesner.
He worked 37 years as an Electronic Tech at Magnavox/Raytheon Company in Ft. Wayne and also part time at the Sears Telecatalog Center in Ft. Wayne. He was a Korean Air Force Veteran and a member of Post 409 Leo American Legion. Pastor Gerry was a retired minister of the Altarstar, Spencerville and Maples United Methodist Churches. He performed with High Hopes Clowns as "Ham Bone" along side his wife, Kay. He enjoyed reading and exercising at Parkview Health & Fitness and he was a member of the Leo United Methodist Church.
Calling will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4-7 pm at Leo United Methodist Church (13527 Leo Road Leo IN). Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 11 am at the church. Burial in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery.
