Ray Glasser, 56, died Friday at Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Angola, IN. He was born in Alleghany County, PA to Merle T. & Janalene (Wallace) Glasser.
Surviving are his father, Merle Glasser of Jasper, TX; children, Michelle Barmore of Ft. Wayne, Michael Glasser of Ft. Wayne, Sarah (B.J.) Grinnell of Ft. Wayne, Crystal Tracy of Auburn, Samantha (Ryan) Roberts of Waterloo, Alyssa (Terry) Herrmann of Independence, KY; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Tammy Geirhart of Kokomo, J. (Dale) Meyer of Montgomery, MI, Sue (Mike) Gamble of Leo; brother, Robert (Denise) Glasser of New Haven; several nieces and nephews & great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie Geirhart and his mother, Janalene Glasser.
He served in the Army for 4 years and in the Army Reserves for 12 years. He was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Spencerville, IN. He worked on a printing press at Moore's Printing in Angola, IN for 17 years before becoming ill with Huntington's Disease. He then served as the Huntington's Foundation Ambassador and had his picture placed on billboards and buses in Ft. Wayne. He received 5,018 cards from all over the world last year for his birthday.
Calling will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 12 noon - 2 pm with services following at 2 pm at St. Peter Lutheran Church (6893 SR 1 Spencerville, IN). Pastor Vicky Shoup will officiate. Burial in White City Cemetery with military honors.
