Ray "Jim" Carnahan, 74, died Saturday at Parkview Health in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Jackson Township, DeKalb County, IN to the late Ray Franklin & Ida Mae (Timberlin) Carnahan. He married Sherry Ellis on December 1, 1972 in Chicago, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry of Ft. Wayne; daughters, Vikki (Steve) DeBaillie of Albion, Crickett (John) Griswold of Pratville, AL and Amy Jo Fenner of Coldwater, MI; step children, Ralph Hart of Ft. Wayne & Donna Jo (Brance) Gibson of Chino Valley, AZ; several grandchildren & great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Nanci) Carnahan of Ft. Wayne, Ralph Carnahan of Ft. Wayne, Harry (Mary Ann) Carnahan of Leo, and a sister, Opal Georgi of Ft. Wayne; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Jo Murray; brother, Clifford Carnahan; brother-in-law, Robert Georgi; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Carnahan; niece, Kelly Kay Carnahan and a nephew, Jeffery Carnahan.
He worked as a mechanic for several years with Midas and Fair Muffler in Ft. Wayne and the last 10 years as a groundskeeper for Foster & McMillen Parks Dept. in Ft. Wayne. He loved golf, music & collecting golf balls.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 2 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home. Memorials to the family in care of the funeral home for funeral expenses.
