Martin Blakley, 93, died Tuesday at Woodview Health Care in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Ft. Wayne to the late Thomas J. & Lulu (Cottle) Blakley. He married Dorothy E. Eshelman on Sept. 18, 1945 in Ft. Wayne and she preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 2009.

Surviving are his son, Roger (Lynn) Blakley of Ft. Wayne and a daughter, Gwen (Alan Kinsler) Blakley Kinsler of Chicago, IL; 5 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Blakley; two sisters, Maxine Shupe & Virginia Caming and a brother, Thomas Blakley.

Martin was a self-employed plumber who founded Blakley Plumbing in Ft. Wayne. He was a WWII Army Veteran who was with the 29th Infantry Division which fought on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church of Ft. Wayne, Waynedale Masonic Lodge (60 year member), Scottish Rite of Ft. Wayne and the Mizpah Shrine. His joys in life include his adored wife and entire family, his little dog Jack, his Model A Ford, gardening and growing strawberries.

A Private Memorial Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Forest Park United Methodist Church - 2100 Kentucky Avenue Ft. Wayne, IN 46805.
