Malinda Steury, 88, passed away on Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Allen County, IN to the late Samuel C. & Leah (Schwartz) Schmucker. She married Lewis Steury on August 15, 1948 in the Amish Church in Allen County. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1998.
Surviving are sons, Melvin (Martha) Steury of St. Joe, Edward (Mary) Steury of Spencervile and Leon (Chris) Steury of St. Joe; daughters, Diane (Tim) Smith of Spencerville, Linda (Jeff) Ruckman of Butler and Pauline (David) Zook of Chesapeake, VA; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; brother, David Schmucker of Grabill and a sister, Susanne Schwartz of Auburn, KY. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Alan Steury; a brother, Pete Schmucker; and two sisters, Amanda Graber & Martha Schmucker.
She was a homemaker who loved her life on the farm, quilting, vegetable & flower gardening, canning, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a member of the North Leo Mennonite Church and Women's Quilting Group.
Calling will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 2-8 pm at North Leo Mennonite Church in Leo, IN. Services will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2 pm at the church with Pastor Don Delagrange officiating. Burial in Yaggy Cemetery, Grabill, IN.
