Louise M. Schaefer, 89, died Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Golden Years Homestead in Ft. Wayne, IN.  She was born in Monroeville, IN on April 18, 1936 to the late Joseph E. & Madeleine M. (Verbiest) Elias.  She married Harold E. Schaefer on February 20, 1954 at Harlan Church of Christ and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1986.

Surviving are her daughters, Julie Neumann of Spicewood, TX, Patty Schaefer of Indianapolis and Sherry (Jerry) Yoder of Spencerville; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert (Mona) Elias and Robert Elias; sisters, Leona (Glen) Kennedy, Mary (Charles) Mull and Rosemary (Rolland) Johnson.

Louise was a farmer's wife, cleaned other people's homes and was a sales representative for Tupperware & Avon.  She was a member of the Country Star Square Dance Club, Farm Power Tractor Club in Auburn, Senior Saints and attended St. Joe Church of Christ.

Calling will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5-8 pm at St. Joe Church of Christ (508 Jefferson St. St. Joe, IN).

Burial will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 10 am at Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, IN.  Following at 11:30 am there will be a Celebration of Life Service held at St. Joe Church of Christ with Pastor Donny Goff officiating.
