Louis H. Garman, 91, formerly of Corunna, IN died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at DeKalb Health in Auburn, IN. He was born in DeKalb County, IN on August 28, 1926 to the late Albert & Nellie (Clark) Garman. He married Ruth Greuter on February 25, 1951 in Allen County, IN and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage together.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth of Butler; children, Gary (Deb) Garman of Ossian, James Garman of Rome City, Linda (James) Bradley of Corunna, Diana Strite of Waterloo and Judy Eckert of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward J. Garman; grandson, James G. Garman; brothers, Lloyd, John, Ralph, Bob & Frank Garman; sisters, Phyllis Fowler, Maxine Taylor, Mary Timma, Janice Garman, Ruth Schoof & Janet Grear; and sons-in-law, Roger Strite & Chris Eckert.
Louis retired from Rea Magnet Wire after 40 years, was a farmer and also served on the Corunna Fire Department for 15 years. He was a member of the Ashley Knights of Pythias and WWII Navy Veteran. He attended the Apostolic Christian Church of Leo and loved being outdoors.
Calling will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church (11714 Leo-Grabill Road Leo, IN). Services will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10 am with calling one hour prior at the church with Pastor Lynn Stieglitz officiating. Burial in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery, Leo, IN.
