Obituary

Loretta E. Musser, 100, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at her son's home in rural St. Joe, IN.  She was born in Howard, South Dakota on February 11, 1922 to the late Leo August & Laura Rachel (Gilman) Schendel.  She married Robert Dale Musser on November 23, 1949 in St. Joe, IN and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2000.

Surviving are sons, Richard (Susan) Musser of St. Joe, Frank (Jera) Kessler of Churubusco, IN, Daniel Kessler of Nampa, ID; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy A. (Markie) Schendel, Melvin L. "Red" (Eileen) Schendel, Harry W. (Joanne) Schendel; half-brothers, Carl E. (Erlynne) Savage, Elwood Savage, Melvin L. Savage; grandchildren, Terry & Keri Musser.

She worked 18 years as the school secretary for Riverdale Elementary School; was a member of Coburn Corners Church of Christ, Ladies Literary Club of St. Joe, S.W.A.P. and a board member for the Coburn Corners Preschool.  She was very proud of the fact that she lived in the same house in St. Joe for 72 years.  Loretta loved spending time with her family.

Calling will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from noon - 2 pm at Coburn Corners Church of Christ (6813 CR 64 St. Joe, IN).  Services will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Lynn Hart officiating.  Burial in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe, IN.
