Keith J. Merritt, 64, died Sunday at his home in rural Harlan, IN surrounded by his family.  He was born in Union City, IN to Thomas & Janet (Dennison) Merritt.  He married Darlene A. Compton on August 19, 2000 in Elkhart, IN.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene Merritt of Harlan; sons, Frank Butler, Jr. of Spencerville, Charles (Wanda) Butler of Auburn; daughter, Monika (Luis) Gaona of Pleasant Lake; 3 granddaughters & 5 great grandchildren; mother, Janet Merritt of Elkhart; sisters, Debbie Swinehart of Elkhart, Darlene (Jeff) Geiser of Goshen and a brother, Don (Darlene) Merritt of Hemet, CA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Merritt in June 2018.

Keith worked at SPX Alumina Casting for several years and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Per his wishes, there will be no services or calling.  Memorials may be given to the family.
