Joyce C. Hetrick Kammeyer, 83, died Thursday, August 17, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.  She was born on December 31, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Kenneth M. & Esther E. (Bandelier) Yant.  Her first marriage was to Richard Hetrick whom she had 3 children with.  Her second marriage was to Harold Kammeyer and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2010.

Surviving are her children, Anthony (Kathy) Hetrick of Leo, Allen Hetrick of Leo, Julie (Kenneth) Johnson of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kirk (Darci) Hetrick of Fort Myers, FL, Kaleb (Hannah) Hetrick of Fort Wayne, Kelsey (Nick) Martin of Auburn and Hailey Johnson of Fort Wayne; great grandchildren, Luke, Makenna, Bexlee, Aria and Roman; sister, Edith M. Liao of Westerville, OH and a brother, Arthur W. Yant of Saint Paul, MN.  She was preceded in death by a brother, David L. Yant.

Joyce worked in expediting at International Harvester for 19 years; in the Accounting Department at the State Developmental Center and also was secretary to Mayor Burt Dickman of Auburn for 8 years.  She was a member of Harlan United Methodist Church, loved flower gardens, crocheting, sewing and playing the organ & piano.

Calling will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 starting at 10 am at Harlan United Methodist Church (16434 SR 37 Harlan, IN).  Service will follow at 11 am at the church with Pastor Catherine Koziatek officiating.  Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven, IN.
