Joseph Baidinger, 96, of Lake Gage passed away on Monday in Angola, IN. He was born in Mishawaka, IN to the late Joseph & Grace (Erickson) Baidinger. He married Fara Lee Walter on October 11, 1942 in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Spencerville, IN.

Surviving are his wife, Fara Lee Baidinger of Angola, IN; sons, Donald (Patricia) Baidinger of Ft. Myers, FL, William (Trudy) Baidinger of Angola, IN, John (Lori) Baidinger of Sedona, AZ; daughter, Elaine (Jeffery) Kleeman of Angola, IN; 6 grandchildren - Amber Kuzmick of Cambridge, MA, Lee Fenwick of Flagstaff, AZ, Fara Illich of Phoenix, AZ, Andrea Hubbard of Osceola, IN, Carla Smith of Angola, IN and Mark Baidinger of Angola, IN; 1 step granddaughter, Ronda Krontz of Angola, IN; 11 great grandchildren - Conrad & Elizabeth (Zibby) Kuzmick; Fiona, Ragnar & Tori Fenwick; Logan, Caleb, Wyatt & Jonah Hubbard; Jayden Mavis and Aspen Illich.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Grace Baidinger (1987); a sister, Ardys Whitt and a step granddaughter, Jennifer Tutwiler (1987).

Joe graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1938, from the Acme School of Tool Design in South Bend & the Indiana School of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis. He served in the US Navy from 1943-1945. He was the owner of Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville from 1953-1988 & Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Garrett from 1957-1977 and also owner of DeKalb Engineering in Garrett for 15 years. After retirement, his hobby was restoring antique cars, mostly Packards along with one fully restored 1936 Auburn. He was a member and elder of the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes in Angola and a life member of the DAV in DeKalb County.

Calling will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, IN. Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 12 noon with calling from 10:30 am till time of service at the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes (2955 W. Orland Road, Angola, IN). Rev. Thomas Smith will officiate. Burial in White City Cemetery, Spencerville, IN.
