John C. Greuter, 79, died Friday at his home in Grabill, Indiana. He was born in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late John C. & Maudie (Smith) Greuter, Sr. He married Mitzi (McKee) Rennecker on December 17, 1988 in Ft. Wayne, IN. They were married for 24 years. Surviving are his wife, Mitzi of Grabill; two daughters, Brenda (Greg) Zern of Woodburn, Tina (Chris) Snyder of Fremont; a son, Brent (Karen) Greuter of Ft. Wayne; two step-sons, Chris (Emily) Rennecker and Shawn (Tracey) Rennecker of Ft. Wayne; 11 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (Pete) Garman of Corunna and Alice Thompson of St. Joe. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Halte on April 5, 2000. John worked as a Test Driver Technician for Navistar International retiring in 1997 after 30 years. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign War. He was a huge IU fan who loved the outdoors and his grandchildren. Calling will be held on Sunday, Dec. 30, from 2-4 & 5-7 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 31 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at the funeral home. Pastor Stephen Bard will officiate. Burial in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to Parkview Hospice, Riley Children's Hospital and Harlan United Methodist Church.
