Jack L. Hoard's Obituary
Jack L. Hoard, 77, died Saturday at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen,TX. He was born in Hillsdale, MI to the late Russell J. Hoard & Audrey L. (Alpaugh) Yoder. He married Jill A. Sponhower on August 4, 1962 in Auburn, IN.
Surviving are his wife, Jill Hoard of Auburn; sons, Jon (Brenda) Hoard and Joel (Lana) Hoard both of Auburn; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Peggy) Passmore of Hillsdale, MI, Dennis Passmore of Oak Hill, FL, Charles (Cindy) Hoard of Jonesville, MI and Robert Hoard of Hillsdale, MI.
Jack retired in 1993 from Diversified Pattern as a Metal Pattern Maker. He had previously been employed with Magnavox Company from 1961-1964 and with Cole Pattern Company from 1964-1970 and Foley Pattern Company from 1970-1980.
He graduated from Hudson High School in Hudson, MI in 1956 and then went on and attended Allied Trade School in Chicago, IL. He was an Army Reserve Veteran and a member of Hopewell United Brethren Church in Auburn, IN. He also served on the Jackson Township Fire Dept. for about 10 years. Jack loved to play cards, spend time with his family and tinker around.
Calling will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 12 noon - 2 pm at Hopewell United Brethren Church (6852 CR 35 Auburn, IN). Services will be held at 2 pm at the church with Pastor John Erwin officiating. Burial in Cedar Chapel Cemetery. Memorials to the DeKalb County Gideons - PO Box 102 Auburn, IN 46706
