Francis "Marion" Coburn, 86, died Saturday at his home in Fairfax, VA. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Walter H. & Harriett (VanDeventer) Coburn. He was raised in Indiana and graduated from Howard Township in 1946. After graduation, he traveled to Italy with Heifer International on an agricultural project and later served in the army at Ft. Knox where he was discharged honorably due to polio. He was educated at Indiana University Extension in Kokomo and Butler University in Indianapolis. He was a public servant with the IRS for over 30 years which allowed him to travel and live extensively internationally. He continued to work as a foreign tax consultant until the age of 75.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Grace Badilla Coburn of Fairfax, VA; his brother, Frank Coburn of Selah, WA; his sister, Aurdrey Coburn of Chesterton, IN; his son, Clifford Coburn of Rosston, AR; his daughters, Audrey Fletcher of Glendale, AZ, Sarah Webber of Manassas, VA and Carisa Coburn Pineda of Burke, VA; 8 grandchildren and many extended family members.

Private family calling on Friday from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. Services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Platner officiating. Burial in Alton Cemetery, St. Joe, IN.
