Ezra M. Gerig, 92, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at The Cedars in Leo, IN.  He was born on April 13, 1930 in Allen County, IN to the late David & Mattie (Gingerich) Gerig.  He married Clara Ferne Yoder on December 21, 1957 at Cuba Mennonite Church in Harlan, IN.  They shared 60 years of marriage together prior to her death on July 3, 2018.

Surviving are his children, Rod (Deb) Gerig of Harlan, Regina (Steve) Miller of Leo, Rick (Linda) Gerig of Spencerville; grandchildren, Megan (Brad) Foutz, Amanda (Erickson) Fisher, Alicia (Tyler) Johnson, Austin (Ashley) Miller, Ryan (Charity) Gerig, Jenna (Derek) Rode and Dane (Sarah) Gerig; great grandchildren, Riah, Ryne, Ryker & Rose Johnson, Kelsey, Kyle & Kole Gerig, Weston, Cade, Blaire & Karis Rode, Willow & Oakland Miller, Brynn Gerig and Asaph Fisher and a brother, Elmer (Miriam) Gerig of New Haven.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters & brothers-in-law, Edna (Henry) Witmer & Emma (David) Eicher; 2 nephews and 2 grandsons.

Ezra was a highly skilled brick mason and the owner of Gerig's Construction & Masonry, Inc. for many years.  He was a member of Central Ministries and Mennonite Disaster Services.  He loved fishing, traveling, woodworking and serving others.  He was a dear friend to many and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Central Ministries - Leo Campus (14717 Amstutz Road Leo, IN) starting at 11 am with Pastor Don Delagrange officiating.  Calling will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the church.  Burial in Yaggy Cemetery, Grabill, IN.
