Emma M. Eicher, 88, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her home in rural St. Joe. She was born in New Haven, IN to the late David & Mattie (Gingerich) Gerig. She married David Eicher on February 13, 1947 in Woodburn, IN and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2004.

Surviving are her sons, Howard Eicher of Avilla, IN, Steve (Marilyn) Eicher of Hicksville, OH, Allan (Lisa) Eicher of Leo, IN, Norman (Rose) Eicher of Grabill, IN; her daughters, Naomi (David) Schmucker of Grabill, IN, Miriam (Joe) Schwartz of Auburn, IN, Julia (Alva) Steury of St. Joe, IN; 36 grandchildren & 35 great grandchildren; brothers, Ezra (Ferne) Gerig of Harlan, IN and Elmer (Miriam) Gerig of New Haven, IN. She was preceded in death by a son, James Eicher, a daughter-in-law, Teresa Ann Eicher; 2 great grandchildren and a sister, Edna Witmer.

Emma was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, quilting and making relief packages. She was a member of Living Faith Church formerly known as Ridgeview Amish Mennonite Church.

Calling will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 4-8 pm and Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at The Ekklesia (12616 Spencerville Road Harlan, IN 46743). Services will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2 pm at The Ekklesia Lester Zehr, William Hochstetler and Samson Eicher officiating. Burial in Schlatter Cemetery, Leo, IN.
