Doris Schafer, 92, died Saturday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born in Kentucky to the late Samuel & Elizabeth (Kearsey) Burton. She married J. Clifford Schafer in South Carolina on March 4, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1996.

Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia (James) Rolleston of Spencerville, IN; sons, Bruce (Donna) Schafer of Maplewood, NJ and Brian (Linda) Schafer of Roanoke, IN; seven grandchildren, Patrick & Jason Rolleston, Claudia & Victoria Schafer and Quinn, Emily & Robin Schafer. She was preceded in death by eight brothers & sisters.

She did secretarial work in the Trust Department at Marine Midland Bank in New York. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Long Island, NY in the 50's & 60's was very active in the United Methodist Church and was currently a member of the Leo United Methodist Church.

Private Memorial Service will be held at Covington Memorial Gardens in Ft. Wayne, IN on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 at 3:30 pm.
