Dolores J. Duesing, 92, died Saturday, March 28, 2026 at The Cedars in Leo, IN.  She was born on March 25, 1934 in Michigan City, IN to the late Warren & Cleo (Booth) Hinshaw.  She married Robert L. Duesing on December 1, 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2025.

Surviving are her daughters, Lynn Herzog of Ft. Wayne and Debra (Kim) Krafft of St. Joe; grandchildren, Kimberley Herzog, James David (Tiffany) Herzog, Ethan Krafft, Nathaniel Krafft; great grandchildren, Braiden, Sophia & Lincoln Herzog; sister, Patricia Duff and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dewey Duff.

Joan worked as a bank teller for many years for the Grabill Bank where she developed lifelong friendships with her co-workers and customers.  She was a very talented artist and enjoyed painting nature scenes in her younger years.  Joan had a special place in her heart for dogs and nurtured numerous shelter dogs in her lifetime.  She embraced living at The Cedars with her "Cedars Family" and cared deeply for the other residents and the staff.  She was a wonderful wife and mother and a friend to many people.  She always had a warm smile and a kind greeting for anyone she met.  Always compassionate, offering encouragement and comfort to others.  Joan was a true blessing.

Friends and Family may gather on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 4-7 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, IN.
