Dewey F. Gebo, 73, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024 peacefully at his home in Leo, IN.  He was born on May 2, 1951 in Chicago, IL to the late Chester H. & Helen F. (Fuller) Gebo.  He married Rita S. Means on September 20, 1986 at Hopewell United Brethren Church in Auburn, IN.

Surviving are his wife, Rita Gebo of Leo; daughter, Sara Scott of Indianapolis; grandsons, Ryan & Jason Scott of Indianapolis; sister, Janice (Edward) Utermark of LaOtto; brothers-in-law, Loren (Joie) Means of Ft. Wayne, Lyle (Joan) Means of Ft. Wayne, Lowell Means of Ft. Wayne; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Hudson of Auburn, Joyce (Greg) Geise of Hamilton and Nancy Means of Ft. Wayne and an abundance of nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Lloyd Means, Lynn Means & Philip Hudson and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Means.

Dewey attended Hopewell United Brethren Church.  He enjoyed traveling, gardening and watching old movies.  He also enjoyed spending time with his twin grandsons, Ryan & Jason.  He loved his cat, feeding & watching the birds and gardening.  In his early days, Dewey worked for Zayres Corporation in Chicago, IL for 21 years and retired from Performance Food Group in 2016.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Scipio Cemetery in Harlan, IN.
