David N. Pfister, 86, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at The Cedars in Leo, IN.  He was born in Chicago, IL on November 25, 1938 to the late Levi N. & Lillian M. (Blume) Pfister.  He married Sharon E. Getz on November 25, 1962 at the Ft. Wayne Christian Apostolic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Pfister of Ft. Wayne; children, Karen (Dwight) Smith of Wheaton, IL, Mary (Lance) Clark of Huntington, Sheri (Brad) Conner of Greentown, David E. Pfister of Harlan; grandchildren, Sara, Hannah & Jonathan Smith, Tianna (Andrew) Frischman, Larissa (Greg) Sklar, Addie & Drew Conner, Levi, Risce-Anne & Bella Pfister; great granddaughter, Evelyn Frischman and a great grandson on the way; siblings, Albert (Becky) Pfister of Bluffton, Daniel (Karen) Pfister of Auburn, Myron Pfister of Auburn, Carolyn (Ralph) Gudeman of Congerville, IL, Linda Rengstorf of Minneapolis, MN, Margie (Steve) Stoller of Richmond, Ella Blume of Grand Junction, CO and Marty Pence of Ft. Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Pfister; nephews, Jacob & John Pfister; grandchildren, Hudson, Jessie & Arron Smith; and a brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Janice Pfister.

In 1963, David and his brother, Robert founded Pfister Brothers' Farms, a venture that at its peak cultivated 8,000 acres across 126 farms in five Indiana counties.  The farm became a true family endeavor, employing his brothers, sisters, mother, and many others throughout the years.  He also earned his real estate license and auctioneer license passing both exams with highest honors.  David was a Korean War Army veteran.  In 2022, he was blessed to take part in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., a memorable journey that recognized and celebrated his military service.  David also had a passion for flying and enjoyed piloting small aircraft across the Midwest.  He was a devoted member of the Leo Apostolic Christian Church, where he loved to sing and served as a song leader, lifting the spirits of others through music.  One of his endearing qualities was that he was always willing to stop to help a stranger change a flat tire or lend a helping hand to those in need.

Calling will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10 am - 1 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church (11714 Grabill Road Leo, IN).  Services will follow at 1 pm at the church.  Burial will be held in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery, Leo, IN.
