David Houghton, 80, died Saturday at Hamilton Trace Nursing Home in Fishers, IN. He was born in Auburn, IN to the late Paul D. & Magdalene G. (Conner) Houghton. He married Barbara Jean (Larimore) Houghton on September 28, 1957 in Ft. Wayne, IN and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2012.
Surviving are a son, David (Cherie) Houghton, II of Lima, OH; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Cooper of Cohutta, GA and Janice Houghton of Indianapolis, IN; grandson, Trace Houghton and a sister, Nanci (Raymond) Carnahan of Ft. Wayne, IN and a sister-in-law, Betty Houghton of Auburn, IN. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Paul Houghton, Jr.; a brother, James Douglas Houghton and a sister, Miriam Dawn Houghton.
He worked as the Business Manager for Don Ayers Pontiac in Ft. Wayne for 17 years. He was a member of the Auburn Nazarene Church, Church of God in Ft. Wayne and owned the Little Hitching Post along with his wife for 19 years. He and his wife were also the owners of Mr. JJ which was the Indianapolis Colts Mascot.
Calling will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 11 am - 2 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, IN. Service will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn, IN.
