Clayton Schrock, 96, died Saturday at the Cedars in Leo, IN. He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas to the late Reuben & Susan (Yoder) Schrock. He married Marjorie Mae (Beck) Schrock in Topeka, IN on October 16, 1943 and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Rick S. Schrock of Maryville, TN; daughters, Sharon J. (Rick) Meyers of Columbia City and Shirley J. (Fred) Johnson of St. Joe; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Furnish Edwards of Leo, Ruth Schrock of Ft. Wayne & Joan Schrock of Kendallville. He was preceded in death by brothers - Levi, Albert, David, Paul, Bob, Don, Elmer & Bill Schrock; sisters - Betty Miller, Francis Beck & Ruth Raye Gapinger.
He cleaned out ditches for General Dredging Company and then became a crane operator for Masolite Company for the next 40 years. He also dug ponds and gravel pits for Fred Lantz. He was an avid hunter & fisherman and loved to go out and pick up golf balls for resale. He and his wife also sold items including the golf balls at the Shipshewana Flea Market. He loved hard work, listening to Gospel music and was a faithful member of North Leo Mennonite Church.
Calling will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5-8 pm at North Leo Mennonite Church (15419 SR 1 Leo, IN). Services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at the church. Burial in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery.
