Obituary

Chuck Laux, 76, died Sunday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born in Spencerville, IN on the family farm to the late Loyd & Betty (Worman) Laux. He married Deloris "Katie" Griggs on June 11, 1961 in the St. Joe Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Katie Laux of St. Joe; son, Rod (Jennifer) Laux of Butler; daughters, Amy Snyder (Larry Leslie) of St. Joe, Lori (Paul) Camp of Butler, Echo (Mike) Hathaway of St. Joe; 14 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Louise) Laux of Mesa, AZ, William (Patti) Laux of Flagstaff, AZ; sisters, Ruthann Ruland and Sally Baird of Winslow, AZ. He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Bob Ruland & Richard Baird.

Chuck retired as a fabricator from Auburn Gear and was a Navy Veteran. He was a member of the St. Joe Church of Christ since 1961 where he was an elder, teacher, deacon and trustee since 1965. He and his wife worked at the Lake James Christian Assembly Camp in Angola for several years. He was a volunteer with the Concord Township Fire Department for 24 years and was named Firefighter of the Year in 1983. He loved building hot rods and motorcycles. He had a very strong faith in God, loved Bluegrass music and spending time with his family.

Calling will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the St. Joe Church of Christ (508 Jefferson St.) in St. Joe, IN. Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 at 10 am at the church with Pastor Mike Booher officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe, IN.
