Brian K. Carnahan, 64, died Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN.  He was born on July 21, 1961 in Auburn, IN to the late Raymond R. & Nanci A. (Houghton) Carnahan.  He married Roberta S. Westfall at Hopewell United Brethren Church in Auburn, IN on August 22, 1981.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta Carnahan of Spencerville; children, Robert Carnahan of Auburn, Magdalene Carnahan of Spencerville, Nicholas Carnahan of Spencerville; grandchildren, Ayrian, McKenna, Lily, Emma, Sophia, Asher, Zebulun, Tobias & Juniper; sisters, Cheryl (Tony) Burton of Deep Gap, NC, Christie Carnahan Whitton of Ft. Wayne; sister-in-law, Sandy Carnahan of Auburn and nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Lynn Carnahan.

Brian grew up at Hopewell United Brethren Church very much involved in the youth group and Bible quizzing.  After high school, he attended Huntington College and received his Associates Degree in Business.  While attending Huntington College, he met Roberta Westfall and in 1981 they were married at Hopewell United Brethren Church.  After their marriage, they moved to Cincinnati, OH where he attended Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science.  After obtaining his mortuary license, he worked for Bailey-Schafer Funeral Home in Huntington & Roanoke and Mishler Funeral Home in Milford, IN.  In the fall of 1988, Brian & Roberta purchased what is now Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, IN and made that their home.

Brian enjoyed music and for years he sang and played at Hopewell United Brethren Church and also at the Spencerville United Methodist Church until it became to difficult for him to play.  He also played for the Men's Lenten Breakfast at the First United Methodist Church in Auburn.  Brian also worked as the head night auditor at the Marriott & Hotel Ft. Wayne for about 30 years before they closed due to Covid. Brian was also a member of the St. Joe Lion's Cub for years and enjoyed helping with their tent at the DeKalb County Fair.   He started the Spencerville Community Thanksgiving that has been done at the Community Club every year.  In his later years, he enjoyed watching game shows and cooking shows with his grandson.

There will be a friends & family gathering on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 3-7 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home (6992 SR 1 Spencerville, IN).  A graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorials be given in his name to the Spencerville United Methodist Church or the Spencerville Community Club.
