Berta Kimpel, 89, died Thursday at the Cedars in Leo, IN. She was born in Davy, West Virginia to the late James Yeary & Hattie (Roberts) Yeary Wyatt. She married LaVon Kimpel in Newville, IN on May 21, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1992.

Surviving are sons, Kevin (Karla) Kimpel of Spencerville, IN and Michael Kimpel of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Christina Kimpel, David Kimpel and Matthew Kimpel; great grandchildren, Josh, Adrianna & Kacy Kimpel.

Berta worked for Kray's Orchard and also retired from Cooper Industrial in Auburn, IN after 25 years. She loved animals, sweets and spending time with her family.

Calling will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, IN. Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, IN.
