Arlene Virginia Tucker, 94, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, IN.  She was born on August 10, 1927 in Jay County, IN to the late Rev. Chauncey K. & Ruby P. (Dinius) Tucker.

Surviving are a niece, Toni (Bernie) Bingham of Butler; step nephew, Tom (Tara) Shears of Ft. Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Cherie Tucker of Coral Springs, FL.

She was preceded in death by brothers & sisters-in-law, Daniel K. & Opal M. Tucker, Thomas A. Tucker, Joseph C. & Mary Tucker; a sister-in-law, Mary K. (McHenry) Shears Tucker; sister & brother-in-law, Bonita C. & Blain C. Knight; nephews, Russell Tucker and Michael Dickerhoff; great nephews, Andrew D. Williams & Matthew Stuart and a step nephew, Terry Shears.

Arlene had attended many schools in her lifetime but graduated as Valedictorian from Lafayette Central High School near Nine Mile, IN.  She graduated from Ft. Wayne Bible Institute in 1948 and Ft. Wayne Bible College in 1949 with a Bachelor of Sacred Music Degree.  She was the last Tucker to be born on her grandparents, Otis & Lola (Brunson) Tucker's Farm in Jay County, IN.  Arlene was a retired case worker for the Huntington County Welfare Office and had also worked at Ft. Wayne National Bank.  She was a prolific organist and singer and loved to sew.  While living in Huntington, she also attended Grayston United Brethren Church.

Calling will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home.  Services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Teeple officiating.  Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton IN.
