Anita J. Carnahan, 93, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at her home in St. Joe, IN.  She was born on July 23, 1932 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Howard L. & Georgia A. (Porter) McMaken.  She married Charles A. Carnahan on November 18, 1951 in St. Joe, IN and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2010.

Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia (Sherl) Amburgey of St. Joe; daughter-in-law, Linda Carnahan of Auburn; grandchildren, Tabitha (Randy) Bauman, Aaron Carnahan, Jeremy (Angel) Amburgey, Dustin (Tabatha) Amburgey, Nicole (Andrew) Boyer; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and one on the way; and a brother, Albert (Sharon) McMaken of Auburn.

She was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Carnahan; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jerry (Betty Jean) McMaken & Howard (Carol) McMaken; two nieces, Jodi Premo, Teresa McMaken, Sandra Price & Lori McMaken and a great granddaughter, Kaydance Amburgey.

Anita retired after 38 years from General Electric.  She was a member of the St. Joe Church of Christ since she was a little girl, 75+ year member of the Pythian Sisters, St. Joe Pickle Festival Committee Member and the SWAP (Seniors With A Purpose).

Calling will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 4-8 pm at St. Joe Church of Christ with a Pythian Sisters Service following.  Services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11 am with calling one hour prior at the church with Pastor Donny Goff officiating.  Burial in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe, IN.
