Amos Schwartz, 89, died peacefully at his home in Harlan on Monday surrounded by his family. He was born in Berne, IN to the late Joseph J. & Elizabeth (Graber) Schwartz. He married Maggie (Yoder) Schwartz on October 8, 1955 in Berne and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2016.
Surviving are his children - Marlene Seiler of Kalamazoo, MI, Kathleen (Tim) Yoder of Harlan, Gary (Darlene) Schwartz of Woodburn, Marsha (Mark) Delagrange of New Haven and Wayne (Carol) Schwartz of Elida, OH; 11 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Schwartz of New Haven. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, great grandson and 11 brothers & sisters.
Amos was a self-employed Brick Mason who loved spending time with his family & friends. He was a faithful member of Cuba Mennonite Church and enjoyed riding his golf cart around where he lived.
Calling will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 6-8 pm and also on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Cuba Mennonite Church (10835 Cuba Road Harlan, IN). Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10 am with calling one hour prior at the church with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. His earthly body will find its resting place in Yaggy Cemetery, Grabill, IN.
